Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD)-Texas term, it won't be in your book - a meeting that takes place between a special ed. student and their parents, and school officials to review evaluations and assessments to determine what actions, if any, should be taken to help improve the students educational needs.
2. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)- a law that mandates the accommodations of those with disabilities. Such as ramp or automatic doors for wheelchair-bound people. It also states that these people can not be discriminated against.
3. Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) - is a determined plan of action to improve a students behavioral issues. This may include changing the students environment to keep them from becoming frustrated and acting out.
4. Child Find - is a process to help identify young children that are in need of a early intervention program.
5. Continuum of Alterative Placements- is a separate place away from the regular ed. Classroom where a student can get an education in the least restrictive place as possible. These places include: regular classes, special classes, special schools, instruction in hospitals
and institutions, and instruction in the home

A handicap is when a person is not able to finish a task that the wish they could. The disability hinders the person and the handicap is the action that he is trying, but unable, to complete.
